Welcome to our ecommerce store and thank you for selecting Ecouarium Ltd. as your premier choice for rare and exotic tropical plants. Our objective is to cultivate an opportunity for our clientele to locate exceptional botanical treasures to showcase the world of living art with our distinctive styles of enclosures we refer to as "ecouariums".
Once your online shopping transaction is complete, our dedicated team will follow-up with you via the contact details you provide with a second invoice for shipping which will be issued after your first transaction. This allows us to locate the most suitable box size for your order and to combine orders if necessary. Please allow up to 48 - 72 hours for a follow-up. In the mean-time, your new purchases will have your name tagged to them while being cared for by our dedicated team of plant experts!

Due to high expectations in order volumes, for the launch, please allow us 2-4 weeks to process the initial orders till we catch up. We will always endeavour our best to ship as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding. You will receive a reply when your order has been processed with a tracking number when shipped or when ready for local pickup.

We ship throughout Canada, the United States of America, and most international destinations. Restrictions on shipping destinations may apply as some countries do not permit the importation of plant species and/or particular item(s). We strongly urge customers to verify their local regulations before placing orders to ensure your purchasing and shipping transactions proceed as smoothly as possible.

Our Shipping/Handling Philosophy
At Ecouarium Ltd., we do not believe it is fair to over-charge our customers for shipping, and will provide you with the most competitive rates we have negotiated with reputable providers including FedEx and Purolator to ensure your orders arrive as quickly as possible. This is to provide your orders with the best likelihood of surviving the trip while in transit. For livestock, we do not use Canada Post nor private shipping methods or accounts provided by customers.
If you intend to pick up your purchase(s) locally at our showroom during regular business hours after your transaction online, please schedule your 15 minute pickup appointment on our website. When your order is ready, you will receive a notification to schedule a pickup. If customers require more than 3 days to pickup, they must make arrangements with the store management ahead of time to ensure the order is held. We do not hold plants for more than one week. Any orders not picked up within one week of receiving the notification, please ensure we have the correct email address so our message(s) are not in your spam folder. Any orders that go beyond one week of the notification are subjection to cancellation and 50% refund. Walk-in traffic is not permitted as we may have scheduled appointments and/or paid consultations with other customers who have planned ahead of time. Please advise us if there are any delays and our staff will review your situation with you.
We Are In Canada
Although we are happy to ship our specimens to customers globally, our hub of business is situated in Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada, which is subjected to seasonal conditions and of course, winter, which we are famously known for. When temperatures begin to dip below freezing (0 degrees Celsius), our insulated shipping boxes will be highly recommended, and in some cases, made mandatory, for their transportation. Keep in mind thermal-insulated packages and in some cases, heat packs, cost a premium fee and this will increase the cost of shipping, but we will advise you ahead of time. During the spring and summer season, your plants will be sent via normal packaging, unless you request otherwise and are willing to pay more to accommodate premium packaging.
International Shipping Year Round For Members
Ecouarium Ltd. Membership Portal Members regardless of Account Member Status or Seedling Member status all get shipping year round, even internationally.
If you conduct a transaction and wish to cancel in the event shipping costs are too high, or if you simply change your mind about your order, we will refund 90% of your transaction fee (10% hold) to cover credit card merchant fees and administration labor costs if notified within 48 hours or less from time of purchase, NOT from the time your receive your shipping quote. After 48 hours, we will refund only 50% of your transaction fee (50% hold) to cover credit card merchant fees and administration labor costs. Please use our shipping calculator to budget costs, depending on how much you purchase. Refer to our box sizes we provided in order to help you get an idea what to expect for shipping and handling fees. Additionally, we do not supply wholesalers and resellers as we want our customers to have access to our specimens not readily found elsewhere. Those found to be a reseller or wholesaler will have their account(s) terminated and provided only a 50% refund if proof of violation is provided. Memberships will be denied and banned permanently. If you would like to pay for your purchase via alternate methods (i.e. email transfer), please contact us via our contact form ahead of time.
Limitations of Quantities
Ecouarium Ltd. reserves the right to limit at any time, the number of plants a customer may purchase in a single transaction to ensure ample supply is available for others to enjoy. Multiple back-to-back orders of limited quantities will be subjected to a 50% refund of your transaction fee (50% hold) to cover credit card merchant fees and administration labor costs. Plants in limited supply per customer will be indicated on the plant listing(s) in our ecommerce store. We cannot control the quantities you choose and we kindly ask you adhere to the limits to avoid extra costs and labour associated with the process and inconvenience associated.
Product Lines and Liabilities of Shopping Online
We carry Hagen Aquatic Products, Exo Terra Products, and Repashy Products, as well as dart frog vivarium related products such as driftwood, fruit flies, leaf litter, etc. Our agreements with direct supplier chains allow us to special order in products you need, for which we can provide you with a shipping quote. If you are local to Sherwood Park, Alberta or within reasonable driving distance, local pickup may be to your advantage.
Plant(s) in pictures are not exactly as shown but are a fair representation of the advertised item(s) (unless declared explicitly otherwise for unique one-of-a-kind items). You will receive healthy plant(s). We cannot guarantee colors, patterns, thicknesses, orientation, arrangement, blends, lushness, number of leaves, or presentation of the plants you will receive as shown in the images/videos featured on our website(s) and/or social media channel(s) or any other avenues we advertise in. We also will share information on our plant listing(s), which ones are safe with reptiles or your terrarium/vivarium creatures. However, we carry zero liability on information we recommend or are aware of. Always conduct your own research or consult with trusted third party sources including but not limited to veterinarians or ecology experts.
Be aware that in the case of rarer to find plants, item(s), etc. placed in your virtual shopping cart are not guaranteed to be yours until a successful gateway payment transaction is completed. Multiple customers are eager to purchase just as you are, and availability of products can disappear before you complete the check-out process. Ensure you are swift and quick in your decisions and pay for the items you desire right away. Come back for what is next on your list afterwards and hopefully it's still there.
Shipping & Returns
Plant specimens and decorative items once shipped are non-returnable/nonrefundable status. We cannot carry nor be burdened with the liability of the state of your purchase(s) once picked up or shipped. If your received purchase(s) are damaged during transit, please contact the shipping carrier. We will always strive to do our best to ensure your satisfaction, but once your purchase(s) depart the confines of our showroom, we are no longer held liable or responsible for factors out of our control.
If your received plant has something obviously out of line that would not have been caused by the transit carrier, resulting in the need for a return or refund these are on a rare case to case basis and are subject to a 100% refund including the return in shipping. If you desire a replacement plant, you must return the original plant to us at your cost via FedEx or Purolator. To initiate a replacement request, please send us photos within 24 hours of receiving the plant(s) along with a detailed explanation of what the issue is, and our in-house experts will evaluate if a return is necessary or if the plant specimen(s) simply need(s) to recover from shock experienced while in transit. Please understand that many plants experience shock after shipping and may wilt or lose some leaves and will need special conditions to help them recover. This is very normal and does not mean there is anything wrong with the plant(s), but you need to ensure you have done your research.
Shipments are processed once a week and go out every Monday, provided it is a non-statutory holiday. In the mean-time before the next shipping window, your plants/decorative items will be tagged with your name on them, and we will continue to care for your live specimens!
Most plants are bare-rooted for shipping which means the media is removed and the roots are wrapped in sphagnum moss. We do this to decrease shipping weight while reducing the risk of damage to the plants from the pots themselves. The sphagnum moss also protects the roots from experiencing conditions of sensitivity and from drying out. Plants are wrapped with insulating materials including but not limited to paper towels and soft fabric/plastic materials. All of our boxes are clearly marked indicating which side must be up for the shipping carriers. Sometimes we include bubble wrap cushions and sponge cotton foam material to securely protect your plant specimens and/or environment decorations.
Many of our plants are imported and are in high demand. We cannot guarantee the condition of the roots upon arrival. Some plants need more roots than others in order to be deemed and healthy for shipping. At any point during the shipping process if we discover the plant does not have enough roots to sustain, we will refrain from shipping and give our customers the option to proceed at their own risk or get a full refund. We encourage everyone to do their research prior to purchasing as some of these plants can deteriorate rapidly for multiple reasons, both known and unknown. We are happy to try to assist in any way possible but cannot offer any guarantees or refunds.

Membership Termination Policy
Although we do not like to mention anything negative here, Ecouarium Ltd. reserves the right to terminate a member's access with or without reason if a violation of the policies listed here occurs or if we deem the member is a direct competitor or is not in good standing with Ecouarium Ltd.
Sharing of screenshots or sharing copyrighted/trademarked content from the portal will result in immediate termination if located in the cyberspace outside of the portal without notice if sufficient evidence is concluded (Applies to Member Accounts & Seedling Member Plans).
